OUR HISTORY

Amber Nobles, is a born and raised Harlem native, and a proud graduate of the world-renowned Florida A&M University School of Business and Industry. Upon her graduation in 2005, she returned to New York City and embarked on her career in Corporate Tax and Finance. After working with a diverse background of companies and contributing to their organizational successes, she found her true passion of helping others, and transitioned her career into Human Resources.

In 2008, tragedy struck and her oldest sister, Tswana Lin Saunders, was diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer at the tender age of 39. She passed just a few months later, just after her 40th birthday. This tragic loss, ignited a passion inside of Amber to bring awareness and education to the various types of Breast Cancer in and around her community. In 2013, she joined the Breast Examination Center of Harlem and became a Patient Education Volunteer for this Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center facility. Shortly after, the idea of Pampered and PINK was birthed.

In 2014 she founded Pampered & PINK to provide fun, interactive and educational events for the Harlem Community. The PINK in Pampered & PINK stands for Providing Information  Necessary for Knowledge. Amber knew that waiting until October to do something about Breast Cancer was not an option and she wanted to produce events that were more than just fundraisers, walks or in October. It was founded with those principles and that 100% of the profits raised through Pampered and PINK’s signatures fundraisers would benefit the Breast Examination Center of Harlem. The PINK team is made up of diligent and dedicated volunteers, which include: Nickia Burgess - Director of Fundraising & Donations, Rasheeda Davis - Director Of Strategic Partnerships, and Jamila Sladeble - Director of Patient Affairs.

Since it’s founding, Pampered and PINK has hosted a Wellness Fair, 4 Sip for a Cause Tea Parties, 5 Signature Fundraising events, 4 Summertime Beauty Bashes and is known for its Annual Chemo Care Package Drive. Since it’s first drive in 2014, they have donated over 300 Chemo Care Packages between Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Breast Examination Center of Harlem, the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care & Prevention, Weill Cornell, Harlem Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Breast Imaging Center.

Amber was one of MSK’s 2017 Volunteer Recognition Ceremony keynote speakers, where she was asked to inspire others on the importance of volunteering. Pampered and PINK has been consistently recognized by MSK for their fundraising efforts for the past 4 consecutive years at it’s annual Donor Recognition Reception.

Pampered and PINK has partnered with some of the largest companies in the US in as a concerted effort to bring awareness to Breast Cancer. This October, Amber filmed a PSA with BET which aired nationwide to encourage it’s viewers to “Check More, Fear Less”. Recently, she enjoyed being a guest speaker at the Manhattan Section of the National Council of Negro Women's 2018 Tea Party, honoring African American Female Entrepreneurs in the past and present.

When she is not fighting Breast Cancer, she enjoys crafting and event planning. She is the proud founder of Amber’s Craft Corner, which was featured in the 2017 November issue of Essence Magazines “50 Black Women Founders To Watch”
